Hi everyone!

A while ago we committed to changing everything in the Faun's Forest Shop from gold to silver. That day (August 1st) is right around the corner now! : ))

To prepare you for the change, I'm announcing the new prices. If you go to the Forest Shop these prices are listed above the current gold prices.

* [b]Pomellum Seeds[/b] From 50 gold to 30 silver for 5 seeds.
* [b]Nymph Seeds[/b] From 100 gold to 90 silver for 5 seeds.
* [b]Spores[/b] From 100 gold to 120 silver for 5 seeds.
* [b]All Pots[/b] From 50 gold to 100 silver for 30 replications.

The sale price for plants you grow from these seeds remains unchanged. The value these pots add to the sale price for plants is also unchanged.

These seeds and pots will always represent an optional set of side quests. Whereas the seeds and pots used in the main part of the game are almost always profitable -- in the long run you will make more silver than you spend -- these items are not priced to be profitable.

These are meant as a bonus that you can spend your extra silver on.

To put it another way: The Forest Shop is a bonus area. If you find yourself tired or frustrated with the main game, you can take a break and play Forest Shop seeds and quests for fun. But, you can't play the Forest Shop exclusively.

[b]Suggested Playthough[/b]

If you haven't played any of the Forest Shop seeds, yet, here's a brief guide (check the island wiki for more details):

1. Cast Pomellum Seeds. Play the Save the Tree quest. Receive a useful item.

2. Cast Nymph Seeds. Complete Nymph Seeds (grow all the plants) to unlock the pots in the Forest Shop.

3. Adopt a pet! Original Announcement: http://theenchantedisland.com/topics/15564

4. Cast Spores. Play the Gnomish Adventure quest. Try to earn the Gnomish Riches badge.

5. Collect items from the Forest Shop seeds, trade the items, and eventually earn a secret outfit.

Dude, thanks for all the excitement around our island! I'm just wondering if I will lose my pet frog if I try to adopt some of the other forest pets? He and I have kind of bonded and I think his regular, romantic serenading has earned him a spot in my heart.... :)

For someone that casts 100 seeds at a time, the Spores are pricey enough. In fact, the Spores are 2-3x as expensive as many other seeds. Considering they'll probably come into play even more, the price is a bit daring. However, I am glad they're silver now, and will happily finish mastering them.

Hm... my timer is at 0 and they're still gold?

@Swowlan: A bug? I just checked at the timer is showing almost 42 hours for me...

The switch will happen on August 1st at about 4pm EST, not sure what timezone you're in, but hopefully that helps. : ))

@Amma: Yes, I'm pleasantly surprised that most people so far are happy with the price. I worried it might be a little too much. The cost will definitely add up over the course of a quest or mastering the seeds.

@Oldlizzard: That's mostly because the Pomellum plants sell for very little silver. : ))

Question: will this have an effect on the night salesman trade? Since Spores can then be bought for silver and traded for Nocturnal seeds, which would essentially mean that the nocturnal seeds can be 'bought' with silver instead of gold after the switch.

@AG: That's a good point. I think I will have to change that trade after the switch to silver. On the bright side, that reminds me that there are probably a few seeds that don't have trades that *should* have trades. So, hopefully, when I add those, they will balance each other out. : ))

This game is getting more interesting the deeper you look into the quests. You think you have finished a task but something else is lurking round the corner. Fantastic. By the way, we are on 1st August but prices have not changed so assume you were talking about U.S. time. Keep up the good work, will definitely recommend to others.

Hm... it may be the timezone I'm in. Its about 12:15 pm August 1 here.

@Franco& Swowlan-Yes, the shop is changing 1 Aug, according to Eastern time in the US. That's why we've put a timer in the shop-to avoid confusion between all the time zones.

Dude, since the trades are changing, don't forget about the owl and mermaid offers, too! =)

dude, I think a lot of people are not math people and so they aren't sure about exactly how much they would be using. I do have a question though. why should all the pots in the shop be the same price even though you get different amounts of money from them? I know that we can't be making money...but it's not a person's fault if they want one pet/pot more than the other, and the difference in how much money you lose by buying the pots is rather large. It seems like quite a stark difference in money lost just because you like that one better.

I mean I don't care as much because I have tons of silver...but most people don't :D

if we give up our frogs to try out other pets, is the optional quest to get a frog redoable ? if you switch pets do the keep the old pets name until we pay for a new one, or are they nameless ?

@teal: You can replay the quest to get another frog. It only restarts if you've replaced your frog with another pet.

When you switch pets, the new pet has the same name as your old pet until you change the name.

Timer reads 0 and the item prices are still reporting in gold. It is 3:30 in the afternoon on Sunday August 2/10 and I am in southern Ontario. Canada. I do not want to buy in case I am charged Gold!

The timer has been saying zero for me for at least six hours, but it didn't seem worth reporting it as a bug. However, by my calculations 4 pm EST (10pm here) is about now. :-))

The timer says zero and I have bought 3 lots of Pomellum seeds BUT I've been charged GOLD for them ! That's not on ! I was saving my little bit of gold for other seeds. now I can't afford them. What's going on ?
