Well, I've cast around 700 seeds, have 65 coins, and only four seeds left.
I can see it's going to take me some time to finish this quest!

Oh, Jenny, I talked to someone who had completed the quest and she said that it will take around 1000-1500 stardust seeds :( how uninspiring!

*nods* I've cast approximately 550 Stardust and still don't have quite enough coins for the translator...and I'm guessing that's the halfway mark.

yep. i've heard of some people finishing it already. it's hard to believe. i just got enough **spoiler** bought it and now only have **spoiler** left. back to collecting stardust seeds for me. i don't know how many i casted but it's been a lot. but i don't think that it has been in the 500's. i wonder if the end of the quest will let us in on the **spoiler**?

Haha, I guess Dude really wasn't lying when he said it was unreasonably long... I've cast around 400 seeds and I'm oh-so-close to the halfway point, but not quite there. Here's to hoping I finish in the lower end of the range Natalia mentioned. =P

Those estimates sound spot on. I'm **spoiler** away from **spoiler**, and have gone through around 488 Stardust seeds. So, 1,000 - 1,500 sounds about right. A true test of patience:)!

Dude - Is there a chance that the stardust seeds can go back to gifts along with getting them at night?? I see no way that I will ever be able to finish this quest without it. I only get a few with casting as much as I can at night and still don't have 100 of the item needed to trade?

this one is a long one! i was told that summer still has a while to go on the island, so hopefully, you'll be able to complete it! good luck!

Just read in another thread where Dude says that the stardust will end in Sept, so there's still time.
But yes, I agree that perhaps the seeds can go back to gifts after summer, so that there's a chance for wizards who can't play so often to complete the quest (instead of waiting for a year??)

Are you guys still getting visits from the guests for this? I just grew about 30 flowers with Stardust and got no visitors...

Yeah, I just got a visit, but I have had stretches of about 20 seeds with no visitors before... Just checking: You have meteors in the sky, right? =)

yes the meteors are there. Still have about 14 more just to reach the first 100 needed. I don't see me ever making this one as I get many visitors, but not the ones needed with seeds or to trade the plants.

Master Meela - I sure hope so.. for those of us that cannot cast alot at night, it makes it hard to GET the seeds and then the time to cast them and hope we get what is needed.

From someone who has finished this one. I think it took me around 800-900 seeds to finish. I was able to complete it quickly as I had probably close to 700 of the seeds before the meteor showers started.
It sounds like Dude is giving a good amount of time and I hope like Meela suggested that the showers pick up for everyone who hasn't finished.

Yay, I finally finished this quest! It took me around 930 seeds to finish. I also have to say... the reward at the end was quite unexpected, but very pleasing. That was a long quest, but fun. Thanks, Dude! =D

So for the people that have cast 700+ seeds. How do you even get that many??? I keep casting and casting and casting and I may get a few here and there. Any suggestions? :) I've been offered the translater WAY too many times since I can't afford it yet. I need more alien buyers to get this done!

I'm going away next weekend and won't be back until September.
I've only got 79 seeds, and am wondering if I can manage to get the last 21 in the next week. Oooh - the suspense. I think a few green dragons may be required.

Raven, I'm not sure... I just cast a lot at night, and catch a lot of them. =)
I find it's also easier on the morale if I stock up at least 40 or 50 stardusts at once before I start casting them. That way I'm guaranteed a few coin trades, so I don't get discouraged as much as if I get 10, cast 10, and get no trades.

I have 136 strange coins but don't intend to buy the translator, because I'm stubborn like that. Will that keep me from completing the quest?
@Raven: Try casting Fire Seeds or Embers at night. You get lots of duds, therefore the cricket visits and offers extra casts = extra chances at getting Stardust. Also helps you level faster and generates Embers or Dragon Seeds for future use.

@pixie: It doesn't seem to be working for me. I've **spoiler** and I'm getting loads of duds, the owl and the cricket are both very frequent visitors - even the **spoiler**'s been to visit at least five times today, but I'm not getting the effect you've been getting.
Never mind, I only need three more now. :-))

i've been casting obsessively every night since the meteor showers started and just not getting the coin trades. sigh. only about halfway to the translator. this is the first time i've been so unhappy to see the cricket when i cast duds. :(
