Hi everyone!

In a little less that 1 hour the next prize petal contest will start.

When it starts, you'll see a link to the contest page at the top of every page. You can go to the contest page to see how much time is left, how many petals you've collected, whether you've registered for the contest, the prizes, and the contest leaderboard.

Like last time, the contest will last about 7 days. The contest will end on Tuesday, July 20th.

Our May Prize Petal Contest was such a success that we've added [i]many[/i] more prizes this time. We'll be giving away 50 more prizes this time.

In addition, we've added a guaranteed prize for players who finish on the Leaderboard. Players who finish in the top 100 will all receive a special pot, the [b]Leaders Pot[/b].

Due to popular demand we've added a new kind of Prize Petal. As you may recall, last time we had normal prize petals worth 1 point each and Golden Prize Petals worth 5 points each. We've added the Green Prize Petal worth 2 points. These petals can be found by casting seeds that are difficult to find, for example, Nocturnal or Dragon Seeds.

Go to the contest page to find a full list of which seeds produce which kinds of petals.

We will also be displaying the total number of points earned by all players. Last time, only the points collected by players on the leaderboard were visible. This led players to draw two mistaken conclusions: That players on the leaderboard would win all the prizes, and that players with fewer points had no chance of winning. In truth, even the top players earned a tiny percentage of points compared to *all* the players combined. In truth, a wide variety of players were winners.

Finally, if you're new to this contest, here's a very basic explanation of how it works:

* Cast any seed all week long to collect Prize Petals.
* Different Prize Petals are worth different amounts of points.
* Each point is like a raffle ticket. The more points you have, the more opportunities to win a prize.
* You have to collect a minimum of 50 points to enter the contest.
* When you have 50 points, put the word [b]summer[/b] in your status message to register for the contest.
* At the end of the week we'll have a drawing to award prizes to players who registered for the contest.
* Each player can win only one prize.
* Players on the Leaderboard will receive a special prize (the Leaders Pot) in addition to any prize they may win.

Woohoo, new contest!! Thank you for all of the new quests, challenges, and contests lately. I don't cre what the naysayers say - I think there has been a good combination of silver and gold quests lately. Keep up the good work!

I know there is no way that I will be in the top 100 after seeing how some people had thousands of points by the end of the last one...but I just looked up the URL of this Leader's Pot and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! I am kind of awestruck! I soooo want one but there's no way I can ever have one :'(

Dude, you should definitely make more pots in the style of the **spoiler** pot like this one because I love that one too!

@Ariel: I agree, I really like the look of those pots. I think we'll definitely add a green one at some point. : ))

@Virpi: Yes, 50 points is not really much of a challenge for most players.

But, we don't want to exclude casual players who only cast a few times a day, or people that will be on vacation for some part of the contest. : ))

Hopefully, 50 points will be possible for most people.

Dude, I just cast a Glass Bead but I'm pretty sure I didn't get a petal for it (I only had one Glass Bead so the pop up to choose a seed to cast covered part of the screen). Any chance of putting that right?

NB My one green petal came from a Stardust.

@Nimue: You won't get a petal every cast. Or, do I misunderstand? Did you get the dialog, but were not credited for the petal?

I do see them on the prize petal page. If you are looking for them in your satchel, please remember that they no longer show up there. (Kinda like the ingredients for the potions in the potion book).

I see 8 points from 4 green petals right now. If this is incorrect, please let us know.

Thanks Nomad - that is correct from my calculations just not showing up for me ! EI is also keeps coming up with " Old Game" have shut down several times but no joy. As long as my petals are showing somewhere. Thanks for your help

I changed my status into "summer" but if I am currently doing the Ambrosia thing, I do need to put "faun" there, right? How can I solve the problem? Waiting until the deadline of the Petal Contest to switch "faun" into "summer"? That will be hard for someone absent-minded as I am.

Angel, you can have multiple words in your status and it will still count. As for the word "faun", that was for the Faun Challenge, which is now over, so you don't need to have that in your status anymore.

I am also not having my petals registering.. I have been casting Ancient Seeds and have had numerous popups but only two have "taken". :(..

And the Old Game pop up still happening - will shut down again cause it does also not let me cast !

Shell, do you have more than one browser or tab open to Enchanted Island? When do you see the Old Game dialog? When you cast? Or, sell? Or, try to buy something? (etc)

This is a fun summer contest.

How do the prize petals work? Are they randomly given out or given out for growing certain plants? I get about 2 petals per type of seed I cast, but then no more, even when I grow the same type of plant that got one before...is that right?

Gabrielle, they randomly drop when you grow plants. There are no specific plants that drop it. It's just a matter of chance.

Hay Dude, the pop up happens after I go in & check on my petals and I return to the game - seems to revert back to previous game start point and no only got one sign in happening !

i've been casting 25 snowflakes so far and not a single prize petal pop up? is this a stat I should expect from gold seeds??? T_T T_T
