I have been working on mastering seeds and have been using my unicorn summons to get the 4th plant for the 4 in a row... I just used one on my Starstruck, sold it as my 3rd in a row, but when I cast, a nocturnal nights nectar came up! The same thing happened yesterday, but I thought I had made an error; clicking on the wrong plant... I know I did not make an error today, because I didn't even have a nocturnal nights nectar on my stand!!! The startstruck (4 in a row) was the last thing I needed to master the fire seeds... Not only can I not master it, but I lost a unicorn summons on top of it :(
I have not done anything since the nocturnal nights nectar came up, so that you may look at what is on my stand, etc. Thank you for looking into this :)
PS... No bug, no red cast button, everything seemed fine except for the unicorn summons not doing as it is supposed to and I came straight here to post...

did you by chance change seeds after you used the unicorn? or buy seeds (causing them to change on your town square?) You must be using the same seed that the plant comes from, for it to grow again on the next cast.

No, did not change seeds, nor did I purchase seeds for it to have changed them that way... I am level 41 and very familiar with how things work! I had 2 Starstrucks on my stand when the 3rd came up, so I sold those 2, cast twice hoping another would come up, so that I would not have to use my unicorn summons... No such luck! The 2 casts I made produced a regular Nights Nectar and a Magical Phoenix Flower :(
So I opened my satchel, used the unicorn summons on the Starstruck, then sold it for my third in the 4 in a row series and cast again expecting a Starstruck, but getting a Nocturnal Nights Nectar instead!
I have not sold, cast, or purchased anything since that happened... Just came straight here to post the bug! I now have full energy, but am awaiting a fix before I continue and have left things 'as is' so it can be looked at...

It has been almost 24 hours since I've cast, as I've been waiting for this to be corrected and I will be flagging it as soon as I am able. Please help, so I don't lose anymore time on the prize petal contest!

Eashelle, it is a bug as the same thing has happened to me a few days ago, a nights nectar came up when i was after a different plant with my unicorn summons, since you have flagged this topic an elder will look at it as soon as they can, in the mean time cast different seeds so you can still collect your petal, dont keep waiting to get a reply as i dont know how long it will take for them to get to this problem along with many other bugs and i would hate to see you miss out on collecting your petals.

I know this isn't really a bug, but: Once you started a unicorn summons you can't go back to check for the plant name. The unicorn summons is gone anyways. With no more summons to gift and that 4 in a row thing being absolutely impossible to achieve, wouldn't it be nice to be able to quit the summons to check? I cut all emotional strings to this game but this makes my blood boil again!!!!

this happened to me also I used one for a pheonix and got a nocturnal plant instead and then my next cast got a pheonix. Dont quite understand why

@ Meela - I once did just that and then with the next cast any plant showed up, not the one I was choosing by the unicorn summon :( Since then I am quite careful, that is, when I summon a unicorn, I do cast righ away and I don't do anything else in between.

@ Seamoon.. that one time that might have been the issue. I have noticed anytime I use a unicorn summons and a luck potion my unicorn fails. Since I noticed this trend I quit using the two combined and have had no issues with unicorn failure.

@ Meela - same experience. Since I don't mix unicorns with luck potions anymore, the unicorn summon has never failed.

I know I didnt drink one after using the unicorn but could have possibly been on the 4th cast after a luck potion but Im not quite sure.

I have had the same happen to me using the unicorn summons, however, if I have the plant on the stand I used the summons on, and get a different plant, I have found, each time, that my next cast will replicate the original plant the summons was used on. The first few times, I did not cast again.. I thought it was wasted, then I tried it when it happened, and each time, the following cast has replicated the plant needed.

I tried to use unicorn summons on my sandcastle (Shell seeds) but twice I only got another plant or a dud. I used the summons correctly, so I am assuming it is a bug. Have never had this problem before.Thanks for looking into this!!!

I just tried using a unicorn summons to get a third butterweed to master the round seed and I didn't get my unicorn. Any ideas on what went wrong?

Hi everyone, just wanted to give a heads up that we're looking into this. I don't see anything obviously wrong with the unicorn, it's working when I've tested, but I'm going to ask Dude to dig further.

I've spent some more time on this and still can't find an issue.

Dale was insightful that even if the unicorn fails on the next cast, the affects of the unicorn *are* still in there and if you keep casting it should come soon.

Meela is also correct that combining two actions *could* have an unpredictable effect, i.e. unicorn & drinking luck potion at the same time. We've checked closely to try and address every interaction, including that luck potion one, so this *shouldn't* be the case, but that's just something to keep an eye out for if you notice this.

I think possibly the fact that you did unicorn, then sold, then cast--maybe the sold caused something to change. I wouldn't think so, but I just added an extra check to the game just in case.

I think it may have had something to do with the sale (although I didnt think that would affect it) as every time I had this trouble I think it was when I was going for 4 in a row and sold one plant and then cast.

Have been trying to get four in a row sold 1 plant then used a unicorn and got a totally different plant so I lost the unicorn and the four in a row. This is fustrating when it is so hard to get unicorns and have been casting for days to get the third on the fire seed plant. I did not change seeds. Can you either return unicorn or record the four of kind. I have been working to master the fire seed and when changes and bugs occur the game becomes a disappointment.

DanLei, couldn't help but notice you had the exact same problem as me! Fire seeds and last one needed to master the badge... Maybe it's something in that! I'm pretty sure I didn't use a luck potion at anytime during my problem... And what I have noticed about the unicorn summons is this; even if I use it on a plant that I have no more seeds for, the next time I get those seeds, no matter how long it takes, the 1st one up is the unicorn summoned one... In regards to selling a plant, I've never had a problem with the unicorn summons working, but wasn't about to master the seed, either... I'm waiting to use my next summons on another 4 of a kind that will also be for seed mastery, so we'll see if it works, or if those 2 factors somehow nullify it... I'm on bulbs at the moment and just waiting for my 3rd to come up... I'll let you know how it goes, either way!

hi there, I just used the unicorn summons and then drank a luck potion and instead of getting my phantom boronus, i got a nocturnal nights nectar. Too bad I hadn't read this thread first eh?

Very strange that this only happens with fire seeds and at night. I have never had an issue otherwise even with the other nocturnals

Same here, just tried to get my 4th in a row and lost a unicorn summons because it didn't do the right plant. Fire seeds, night, grrrr....Hopefully I can get my unicorn summons back. Thanks!

Follow up my previous report: Think the key is night time and fire seeds. I held all plants on stand and did not cast until this morning. Figured I had lost 4 in a row but could at least get 3 of a kind. I got the correct plant. Sold three. Cast 2 times more leaving them on stand and got needed plant again sold it giving me the wanted 4 in a row. So it seems that the time of day may affect the unicorn.

I used a unicorn summons to get a third starburst rosetta. I only had 2 of these on my stand, no other plants. I had just sold one and needed a three of a kind to sell so I could finish mastering the fire seeds. Instead of a starburst rosetta I got a nocturnal nights nectar. The unicorn summons has been deducted from my total and now I need to sell the nights nectar to be able to cast again. I won't get my 4 in a row of the starburst rosetta unless I use 2 more unicorn summons. Can this be fixed so I can achieve my mastery of the seed please?

I apologize to those experiencing this apparent glitch in the game. Unfortunately we are not sure what caused it, and have not been able to duplicate it ourselves, so we are not able to fix. I know it's not ideal but the best answer I can give at this time is to try again, most likely it won't happen again.

It has happened more than once Keith. Just thought I would let you know I have had it happen multiple times myself. Its kind of a pain but I just try not to use unicorns on fire seeds except for during the day anymore. Just wish I had realized what was causing it before I lost all those summons now that I dont get them as gifts anymore!

Oh and to those who are tyring to get 4 in a row. If you use a **spoiler** If you start with 3 of a kind you could get two mess ups and still achieve 4 in a row if you are careful in selling
