Hi everyone!

We've just made a pretty big change to seed badges. The old level of mastery is now called completed. Grow all the plants on a seed and you'll receive your seed completed badge.

To master a seed you need to:

* Get 4 consecutive sales with each plant
* Get 3 three-of-a-kinds with each plant

When you accomplish that, you'll receive an upgraded seed mastered badge.

On your profile, we show seed completed badges by default. If you click on "Show Mastered" you can see your progress towards mastering all the seeds.

We've added progress bars on the town square and herbologist pages that show your progress with each seed (towards completion and then towards mastery).

As you work to complete the seed (grow all the plants) the bar fills up with blue.

After you've completed the seed, the blue bar will start filling up with green until you've mastered the seed.

If you've already met the requirements for mastery, you'll receive the badge on your next cast with that seed. Or, if you click on the progress bar (view the seed details on the catalog), the badge will be awarded automatically. If you receive the badge in this manner there isn't a dialog (sorry!).

I have just noticed the bar.. and saw I lacked only a few on the dragon seeds. Have blue bar, and the new badge. However, when I mouse over the seed badges on my profile, they now flutter and you can not read the message that comes up, and also, the message appears to be for the wrong seed.

Awesome!! I noticed the bar and looked around with it and checked back for the announcement! My only question is with the shears and the square seeds, will wizards past the quest still be able to master this one?

@Flower: Thank you for the reminder. No, it won't be possible to master. We're going to go back and add a way to "unequip" the shears so you can work on the basic bushes again.

Wow! This is a huge change! I miss my seed mastered badges! I had mastered all those seeds, and now when I click on mastered - I haven't actually mastered any of them. I was rather shocked to see that! This could take a long time. But, I guess that most of us who have been here on the Island for quite a while are closer to it than the new folks. So much for casting for embers to get dragon seeds, and to try to collect dragon and spiderbeast summons. Now I have a lot of casting to do just to get my seed mastered badges back.

Before anyone makes an objection....please remember again that you are not in competition with anyone but yourself..
It absolutely doesn't matter to anyone but you when you finish a quest or when you level up or who's ahead of you!

My bar shows all green for fire seeds, but the seed mastered badge is still gray. I will now work to master all the silver seeds. It will keep me casting with a purpose while in between quests!

@Sabine I'm with you. The more stuff there is to do the more fun there is to have. Just relax and enjoy the game! I would just like to thank whoever took the time and effort to come up with it. I'm lovin it and I'm usually not one to go for "games" but this one is awesome!

I'll start with the Round Seeds and work my way up :)

Ah, I indulge the old man too frequently to get many of the seeds mastered, but his rewards are too good to forgo! It will be fun to try next time I am doing plant stats (though getting 4 in a row without unicorns is going to be tricky).

@Sabine, I'm with you on this ... I have felt left behind in the past when people have finished a new quest really quickly in a couple of hours and even before I've seen that a new quest has been released !!!(I'm talking gold ones rather than silver ones)It has made me feel a bit ... er ... brainless !! However this time with the snowflake one I took a back seat, carried on "indulging the old man" & collecting tin cans & then started it yesterday. This time I didn't rush or try to compete with anyone & I got more enjoyment out of it, just like I used to with the silver quests. So you're absolutely right, this isn't a competition it's just fun !!! ps .... I'm on my 2nd go with the snowflake one now but I see some people have already done it about 5 times!!!

Ha! I went back and checked...I haven't mastered any yet! I am close on a couple, so will do those first I guess.

Apparently getting consecutive sales is harder than I realized....I wasn't really trying before though.

@Maura - as I understand it is not getting 4 in a row, but 4 consecutive sales. That should be easier... of course with some seeds not too easy - but after all that is the point, isn't it? :D

@Dude, an update to my first post. As I stated, when I mouse over the badges on my profile, they flutter. As I have done this more often, what is happening is when I mouse over one seed badge, suddenly it combines the next seed badge. So the flutter is like round/fuzzy seed, combined.. going back and forth. This appears to be on my profile only as I do not get the flutter when looking at other's profile.

This really appeals to my nature! Really looking forward to casting seeds that I've left once the associated quests have finished - thanks guys!

A new challenge... great... in the past few weeks the island was moving very fast... almost changing the passiveness of the game.. people were running through quests just for the sake of finishing without enjoying much as we did few months ago..(just my view)... as sabine the sage said above, now you are not in competition with anyone but yourself..

I have one question though.....for all of existing/incomplete seed badges that haven't been mastered as I haven't grown 4 in a row...will these silver seeds be available to buy in the supply shop anytime soon.

@Appalachian: You should get the badge on your next cast with those seeds. If you don't want to go that route, click on the progress bar (to go to the herbologist page for those seeds), then go to your profile. It should be updated. : ))

@Bev: Honestly, I hadn't even thought about the seasonal seeds. My gut feeling is that you'll have to wait. : (( But, I'll talk to Keith about it.

@Dale: I haven't had a chance to look into that yet, but I'll try to reproduce and fix. Thanks for the bug report! : ))

@Casper: Did you mean gold seeds? The silver seeds should all be available all the time. Pursten gets the premium seeds in stock as they become available. They should all cycle through sooner or later (it seems like once every month or two).

Fuzzy seeds I just tried to scroll sown to the second row of seeds to see the progress and i could not do it.

I love this concept - but have a question. On my berry seeds I grew one 5 in a row and one 6 in a row - I am assuming that is why I dont show the seed mastered? I need to regrow them - and only get 4 in a row? If thats not the answer, then I dont know why that particular seed isnt mastered.

I guess I will have to take it easy and complete them slowly, but is something to do in betwen quests, not a bad idea.

I don't know what to say but you may loose a wizard. I have worked what I thought was hard to master seeds. Have ones I will never obtain because of the gold required. And yes I have tried buying gold and my perfectly healthy credit card keeps being rejected even though I have bought before. While on the subject why not have seeds available at silver and gold prices?????

I feel like I have wasted hours on this game now. It is not exciting changes, especially with no consultation.

Is this the result of running out of creative plant ideas or a way to get us to pay for this game?

Over all I am disappointed.

@Linda: Looks like you're missing a couple three-of-a-kinds. When you're looking at the berry seed at the herbologist, click on "Three of a Kind". Looks like you need to work on whortlebuds and drooble fruit. : ))

This game is not about winning or losing. It's not about competing. It's about fun...

I think this is one of the most well designed games out there. If you really don't enjoy it you should probably find one that suits you better.

I wanted somethign to do but I am sorry, i did not like this change: 3 three-of-a-kinds with each plant?!!! That just makes casting compulsive and very complex, not exactly fun :( Hope to change my mind while casting. Thanks for the effort anyway.

okay, I didn't receive my fire seed badge and according to the herbologist I have completed it.

Since this new seed update, the font is HUGE!!!

Oh I should have mentioned the bar on the Tuwn Square page makes the scene look ugly and is distracting. Really when I think of it, this has not been about seed mastering but becoming a better wizard. So what are we going to do next make it impossible to get past levels. The principal of KISS has gone flying out the window, It's like all the unforgiveables have been cast at once. Off oap box now. To think I had this page "Favorite" for easy access. Maybe you need to look at other games here on facebook yes they change and improve but I have yet to see them completely reset the bar, REALLY off soap box now.

Nat, my font went much bigger in the middle of using summons, I must say it did scare me...LOL

@Bernie - there are two ways now - one is to 'complete' the seeds, the other is to 'master' them. When you have mastered the seeds before this change, the seeds are now shown as 'complete'. You can switch back and forth in your profile.

I have cast [b]2632 Fire seeds[/b] and I'm only [b]50% towards mastering it ???[/b] now that I'm not happy about. I've been on the island 6 months, I love the game and have bought gold to support it as I think you guys do a wonderful job and I thank-you for all your hard work, but I'm now disappointed as at this rate it would take forever to "master" any seed.

Hi Keith (thank you for the gift)! The font has jumped to a larger size now and I hope that will be re-adjusted at some time? Not sure I like that blue/green box ... it looks ugly but I guess I will get used to it. Back to the beginning then!!
