I think I'm experiencing a bug, what do I do?
Can you give me an overview?
Enchanted Island is a magical world that exists off the coast of the mainland. It's inhabited by wizards, like you, who have come here to restore this island, develop their magic abilities, and uncover it's mysteries.
This is a new game, it's still in beta. We have big plans for it and are expanding the island every week!
As a little wizard you are working to improve your magic ability and learn to grow all the varieties of flowers & other plants. Kendral, the herbologist, will set you up with a flower cart so you can earn money selling your flowers. Use this money to buy new magic seeds, new pots, and to upgrade your wand's power. As you cast more spells you will also 'level-up', levels unlock new items & adventures in the game.
Town Square: This is where you grow & sell your flowers.
Supply Shop: Vern runs this shop. Here you can buy seeds, magic wands, and pots (in the back room), and clothes.
Premium Shop: Pursten sells potions & other specialty items! Nothing here is required for the game, it's all extra fun.
Herbologist: Kendral keeps a record of your herbology accomplishments.
Hop's Haven: Hops will teach you the island's history, wizards discuss gossip, plus live chat.
Help & Discussion: Ask questions and get help in the game.
How do I play?
You start with 2 magic energy but this increases as you improve. Use your magic energy to cast spells. When you have exhausted yourself watch the timer to see when you'll recover or use a potion to recover faster. Magic is hard work!
How do I increase my max energy?
You increase your max energy by collecting family jewels. There are a variety of ways to collect jewels, visit your profile by clicking your avatar. Scroll down to the bottom-left and you'll see a list of all the jewels. Hover over each one for an explanation of how it can be earned.
Why do I have to wait for my energy to recover? Can I get more max energy?
Enchanted Island is a passive game, it's designed to be a game that you leave open in the background and check on throughout the day. While you're waiting check out the wizards chat to talk with other players!
How do I grow plants?
Once you have a pot picked out, and some seeds to start, click the 'cast spell' button under your pot. If you can't cast a spell, please
post a bug
What are all the quests? How do I do quests?
Quests are challenges that are presented to you by various other wizards in the game. Soon after you complete a quest the next one will be presented to you. These are currently all the quests in the game. The numbered ones have to complete in order, but the bonus quests can be completed at any time.

My plant didn't grow, why not?
Sometimes your seeds are duds, you'll see a cloud of smoke for dud seeds. This is normal for magical growing. However, you should know that all bad luck streaks are balanced by good luck streaks. With good luck you'll grow many plants in a row and with bad luck you'll have many duds in a row--but the island spirits will ensure that a wizards success will balanced.
What is the timer on the top left for?
The timer shows how long you have until your energy refills. When you start you can cast two spells every 15 minutes (unless you use a potion) but your max energy can increase.
My flower stand is full?
When your flower stand is full you have to sell one of the plants in order to continue casting spells.
How do I level up?
By casting spells. Even unsuccessful spells count toward you leveling up!
Why upgrade my wand?
More powerful wands allow you to grow plants from more advanced seeds, and they also may allow you to grow new varieties of plants from existing seeds. Kendral, the herbologist, will give you hints about plants you have not yet grown from seeds you have. More powerful wands do not affect the number of duds you have in a seed packet.
Why will the next wand not unlock?
Wands have to be traded-in in order. The next wand will unlock when you have traded-in for the previous and reached the appropriate level in the game.
Why am I still getting a lot of duds even after upgrading my wand?
As you upgrade your wand you definitely get less duds. For example, if you were to go back and try the round seed right now you'd see that you're really good at growing plants from it. However, as you start working on newer harder seeds, you will start to get more duds because these seeds are harder. If you feel like you are getting too many duds on a particular seed you are probably using the bare minimum wand requirement, wait until you've upgraded your wand beyond the minimum and then try growing them.
What are the shadows in the Herbologist?
Each time you discover a new seed, Kendral the herbologist will give you hints as to the number of uniquevarieties you can grow.
How do I change my gender?
Mouse-over 'Supply Shop' and you'll see 'Clothing'. In the clothing shop you can buy a gender transform potion. After you purchase this potion, go to your Satchel and you can drink it.
How are 'levels' and 'quests' related?
Level represents your experience with magic. As you get more experience (cast more spells) your level will increase. As your level increases new surprises and adventures will be available (for example, Vern will not sell some things in his shop to low-level wizards). Since levels represent experience they take the same amount of time for every wizard.
Quests are separate from levels: these are puzzles you have to solve or adventures you have to complete or special items you have to find, they vary. After you complete each quest you will be presented with the next quest. The length of time a quest takes depends on luck & skill.
I forgot what is my next step in the quest I'm on? Where can I see a list of tasks?
(1) Click your character and you'll be taken to your profile, here you can see a list of all the quests down the left-side. (2) Hover over any quest and it tells you the overall requirement of the quest (but not the specific steps). (3) To see the specific steps, go to Help & Discuss > Island Wiki. Here you can find a detailed walk-through of each quest.
What are hearts & what is family?
If any of your Facebook Friends are also playing Enchanted Island they will appear as your family. You can invite your friends to play by clicking 'invite friends' in the top-left of your screen. If any of your friends come to the island as a result of your invitations then you are granted a heart! Hearts just indicate which of your family members you brought to the island.
I invited someone and they came, but they're not showing in my family?
In the top-left corner of the game, click 'Your Family.' Each time you do this the game scans all of your Facebook friends, searches the island, and adds all your friends to your Wizard Family. If you click this and a friend still is not added, there is unfortunately nothing we can do. :( This feature is a little unreliable because Facebook doesn't always work correctly. Sometimes FB leaves friends out, in some cases users have too many friends (we think the max is 2000) and Facebook won't return any, and there are other cases we've never been able to determine why.
I invited someone and they came, they're in my family, but I didn't get a heart?
If you are missing a heart you can easily correct it. Just click your avatar to view your own profile, on the left-side it shows you how many hearts you have, click the link beneath that says 'missing hearts'. Beneath your friend you'll see a link to 'fix heart'. After you do this, send your friend a note telling them to look at their profile. They'll see a message that you are claiming to have invited them, is this correct. Once they confirm then you will receive a heart.
Is this game free? Why do I have to buy gold with a credit card?
You can play Enchanted Island all you want for free, however, donations are encouraged and greatly appreciated. The Town Elders are working hard to create this magical world and if you enjoy it we encourage you to donate to help support the continued development & new features. The more donations we receive the more we can add to this world. As a fun extra we have added 'gold' to Enchanted Island. Everything you can purchase with gold is a fun bonus, none of the gold items are ever required for playing. Awarding you gold is our way of saying 'thank you' for your support!
